Agoda moves to One Bangkok: New offices for 4,000 employees!
There is exciting news for the local economy and technology industry in Bangkok. Agoda, one of the leading digital travel platforms, has decided to relocate its headquarters to One Bangkok. The relocation plans call for the new office to be operational in April 2026, with over 4,000 employees working in an area of more than 26,000 square meters. This will make Agoda one of the largest office tenants in this newly developed district, known as One Bangkok, which is the largest integrated development in the city.
CEO Omri Morgenshtern highlights the need for this major investment to convince shareholders and realize the vision of developing Bangkok into a Silicon Valley-style “tech hub”. With modern design and a focus on collaboration, the new office design is intended to promote creativity and exchange among employees. Stairs are preferred instead of elevators to improve accessibility between different floors.
An innovative workplace
Agoda is not only planning a change of location, but also a fundamentally new working environment. The new office aims to increase employee retention and creative exchange. “We have a good knack for planning a campus office,” says Morgenshtern. One Bangkok offers customized solutions that meet Agoda's specific needs. This is reflected in the flexible working style that will be applied in the new office.
“The decision to move shows how important we are to the wellbeing of our employees,” added Panote Sirivadhanabhakdi, CEO of Frasers Property Limited. The shift is also accompanied by sustainable design concepts, as 50% of One Bangkok's area is dedicated to public green spaces. The project aims for certifications such as LEED Platinum for sustainable neighborhood development – another step towards sustainable urban development.
Green spaces for the community
In the context of these developments, Bangkok has also launched initiatives to improve the quality of life in the city. Projects like Cloud 11, soon to be built in South Sukhumvit, create much-needed urban green space. This initiative aims to make Sukhumvit a hub for innovation and technology and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
While the city center is growing and changing, access to public green spaces remains one of the biggest challenges: with just 7 square meters per resident, Bangkok has one of the lowest rates in Asia. Therefore, projects like Cloud 11, which provide community and cultural offerings, access to public gardens and various amenities, are crucial to the city's future quality of life.
With the move of Agoda and the development of innovative commercial spaces such as Cloud 11, it is clear that Bangkok is on its way to growing as both a tech and sustainable hub in the region. Collaboration between large companies and development projects could pave the way for a new era of urban development.
The future of Bangkok looks promising. While the technology industry is booming in the Thai capital, we can only hope that these developments will also have an impact on the quality of life of the citizens, because something is really happening!
It remains to be seen how the situation will develop until completion in April 2026. We will closely monitor the progress of Agoda and other projects such as Cloud 11.
