The press conference, led by Bangkok spokesman Ekwaranyu Amrapal on October 29, 2025, presented the adjustments to the celebrations. The focus is on honoring Queen Sirikit, and in addition to the traditional competitions such as boat races and krathong competitions, some innovations are also presented. Particularly noteworthy is the decision to promote environmentally friendly materials for the krathongs and to legally ban fireworks and balloons.

From November 9th to December 23rd, 2025, the government, together with TAT, is organizing the grand Loy Krathong Festival “Wichit Chao Phraya 2025”. Highlights include drone shows and candle ceremonies honoring the Queen. Citizens will be able to more easily make their krathongs environmentally friendly in the future. Last year an impressive 514,590 krathongs were collected, 98.39% of which were made from natural materials. This year, participants can also submit their krathongs online via the website greener.bangkok.go.th, which offers an exciting opportunity for those who cannot be there.
