Record attendance at the Pet Fair Southeast Asia: Animal industry is booming in Bangkok!

The Pet Fair South East Asia 2025 has caused a big boost in Bangkok! From October 29th to 31st, this important event took place at the BITEC International Trade and Exhibition Center and broke all records in terms of international visitor numbers. 11,169 people from 81 countries flocked to the fair, an impressive increase of 11% compared to last year. Thai visitors were particularly well represented, making up 64% of the total participants, followed by international groups from countries such as China, India and Malaysia who were also well represented.

As far as the exhibitors are concerned, a total of 447 companies from 37 nations were on site, 75% of which were from the international market. The largest group came from Thailand with 116 companies, closely followed by China and South Korea. There were numerous national pavilions, including from Canada, Italy and the USA. This diversity shows how popular the Pet Fair is as a platform for the global pet industry. Dr. Decha Chatutananant from the Ministry of Industry highlighted the strategic role of the pet industry in the Thai economy, with the market value estimated at 92 billion baht in 2025 and expected to exceed 100 billion baht in 2026.

An event of innovations

Fortunately, this year's Pet Fair also placed a lot of emphasis on technological innovations. A highlight was the introduction of a digital matchmaking platform that helped exhibitors proactively connect with buyers. In addition, the entire event was digitized, eliminating the need for printed event guides. All information was provided via the official event app. This not only made the event modern, but also more environmentally friendly.

Parallel to the Pet Fair, the Petfood Forum Asia took place for the second time, focusing on product development and manufacturing technologies and attracting almost 100 experts. The conference program included more than 40 sessions that provided insights into market trends and innovations in the global animal industry.

Special circumstances and outlook

Some networking events have been adjusted to mark the national mourning period following the death of Thailand's Queen Mother Sirikit. The first event took place in a subdued setting, while the planned rooftop event was canceled out of respect. Nevertheless, the mood at the trade fair remained positive and all participants were enthusiastic about the business opportunities.

The next edition of the Pet Fair, which marks its fifth anniversary, is already scheduled for October 28-30, 2026 at BITEC in Bangkok. VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific and Globus Events look forward to welcoming both exhibitors and visitors to Bangkok and to Pet Fair Asia Shanghai 2026. The event will continue to be recognized as the centerpiece of the Asian pet industry and cement Bangkok's role as a strategic hub for pet business investment in Asia.
