Thailand starts a new era of tourism with Amazing Thailand Ambassador”!
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), led by ฐาปนีย์ เกียรติไพบูลย์, has big plans to boost tourism in the Kingdom of Thailand. As Bangkok Biz News reports, Thailand will take part in this year's World Travel Market (WTM), which will take place in London from November 4th to 6th, 2025. The aim is not only to maintain existing markets, but also to open up new niche markets for wealthy tourists.
Thailand, located in the heart of Southeast Asia with its fascinating cultures and breathtaking landscapes, has always established itself as a popular travel destination. The capital Bangkok is not only a political center, but also a cultural melting pot that attracts millions of tourists every year. TAT plans to improve the image of Thailand through the “Trusted Thailand” project and strengthen security measures with the “Tour Thailand with Confidence” program.
Strategies to boost tourism
An emphasis will be placed on the role of Lisa Manoban, BLACKPINK's popular artist, who will serve as an "Amazing Thailand Ambassador" to increase the country's attractiveness. The government has also developed event promotion strategies to position Thailand as a “World Event Hub Destination”. These include:
- Große thailändische Festivals wie Songkran als weltweite Events zu etablieren.
- Lokale Veranstaltungen auf internationales Niveau zu heben, beispielsweise Loy Krathong.
- Weltweite Veranstaltungen nach Thailand zu holen.
Thailand is forecast to generate 2.79 trillion baht in tourism revenue in 2026, with 1.63 trillion baht coming from the international market, an increase of 8%. At the same time, the number of international tourists is estimated at 34.9 million, an increase of 4% compared to last year.
Vijit Chao Phraya 2025 Festival
Another highlight next year will be the “Vijit Chao Phraya 2025” event, which will take place from November 9th to December 23rd, 2025. Light and sound shows are staged along the scenic Chao Phraya River, aiming to promote night-time economic tourism and provide visitors with a unique experience. This spectacular event is expected to attract 1.5 million tourists, with a turnover of at least 6.2 billion baht, which should give a further boost to Thailand's economic stability.
By the beginning of November 2025, Thailand had already received 26.9 million international tourists. A clear indicator that the country is on the right track to further consolidate its position in the global tourism sector and grow both economically and culturally. The Thai cuisine, the impressive temple complexes and the warm hospitality of the people ensure that the kingdom will continue to be highly popular in the future.
As is well known, tourism is an important economic sector that serves various sectors and is very dynamic. With future orientation and current developments, Thailand will further consolidate its position as one of the most popular travel destinations in the world.
