Traffic chaos in Taling Chan: Orange Line construction projects start!

In the coming weeks, Bangkok will face transport challenges. From then onNovember 20, 2025untilDecember 20, 2025Comprehensive traffic management measures are planned on Sutthawas, Charansanitwong and Railway Roads in Taling Chan. The reason for this is the relocation of infrastructure and the construction of retaining walls for the new Bang Khun Non Station (OR02) of the Orange Line subway project, which was previously reported on by today.line.me.

During this period, traffic conditions for local residents will be significantly impacted and motorists will face associated restrictions as work progresses. The measures will begin with traffic restrictions on two lanes and should last until December 20, 2025. Care is always taken to ensure that access to residential areas continues to be guaranteed.

Traffic changes in detail

  • 20. November – 4. Dezember 2025: Verkehrseinschränkungen auf 2 Fahrspuren im Bereich Soi Phra Nakhon 5 bis Jen 89 Resident. Auf Charansanitwong sind 2 Fahrspuren in Richtung Phai Chai und 3 Fahrspuren in Richtung Bang Khun Non betroffen.
  • 5. Dezember – 10. Dezember 2025: Weitere Einschränkungen auf 2 Fahrspuren auf Charansanitwong und der Eisenbahnstraße im Bereich unter der Bang Khun Non Station sowie in Richtung Soi Charansanitwong 39.
  • 11. Dezember – 20.

The traffic disruptions during the construction project should not be underestimated and, according to springnews.co.th, will also cause inconvenience and noise pollution for residents. To ensure traffic flow, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and construction companies are working closely with the police to minimize the impact on road users. Volunteer traffic police officers will be present at the construction sites to provide support.

Environmental and safety measures

Those responsible have also taken measures to reduce environmental impact, such as installing noise barriers and cleaning the streets with vacuum cleaner vehicles.A 2 meter high fence will be erected around the site and the construction materials will be covered. These and other measures are intended to minimize the impact on residents and maintain air quality. Safety standards will be maintained in accordance with the Ministry of Transport guidelines in order to reduce risks during the work as much as possible.

The planned Bang Khun Non Station is just part of the extensive subway expansion in Bangkok, which has been continuously progressed since the introduction of the first subway line, the Blue Line, in 2004. The metro is still one of the most reliable means of transport in Bangkok today and is expected to become even more important with the completion of the Orange Line, as can be read on faszination-suedostasien.de.
