Thai HoReCa event starts: New trends for gastronomy 2025!

An important day for Thai gastronomy! On October 30, 2025, the “Makro HoReCa 2025” event was officially opened by the Ministry of Commerce. Organized by CP Extra Co., Ltd., this event aims to promote competitiveness in the hotel, restaurant and catering (HoReCa) sector. The motto “Food Infinity” highlights and celebrates the numerous facets of Thai gastronomy.

Deputy Minister of Commerce Rottree Chakkra Yodmani highlighted the strengths surrounding Thailand's food and beverage industry, which is characterized by rich local identity and culture. There are an impressive 40,136 HoReCa companies registered in Thailand, which include 13,169 hotels, 26,229 restaurants and 738 catering services. These companies achieved sales of over 723.89 billion baht in 2024 - a healthy increase of 13% compared to the previous year!

Experience diversity

Visitors to Makro HoReCa can look forward to a variety of events supported by the Ministry of Trade. These include innovative products from the food industry and new kitchen technologies, which are presented in over 300 brands. There will also be a cooking competition that will put the industry's talents to the test.

The organizers also launched the “Smart Restaurant Plus” program in collaboration with the Chef’s Club by Makro, in which 1,539 participants from 11 years have already taken part. The Ministry of Commerce also uses the Thai SELECT seal to promote and strengthen Thai restaurant culture internationally.

A look into the future

The Makro HoReCa 2025 will take place from October 30th to November 2nd, 2025 at Impact Muang Thong Thani, Hall 6-8. The goal is to inspire entrepreneurs, aspiring chefs and anyone interested in the food industry. In this way, Thai cuisine will continue to gain recognition in the global market.
