Miss Wellness World 2025: Brazilian wins in Thailand!
On October 27, 2025, the Miss Wellness World 2025 competition was held at Calypso Cabaret at Asiatique The Riverfront in Bangkok, an event that not only shines with beauty but also with health consciousness. Over 25 candidates from more than 100 countries competed to promote the beautiful concept of “beauty through health”. The opening of the event was fittingly introduced with a tribute to the late Queen Sirikit, who played an important role in Thai culture. The event was organized by Professor Dr. Kriangsak Charoenwongsak, who also serves as president of the Miss Wellness World competition and the Nation-Building International Institute.
A special focus is on the winner of this year's competition: Jessica Trindade Bruxelas de Freitas, a 30-year-old dermatologist from Franca, Brazil. She was crowned the first Miss Wellness World 2025 during the intensive program held from October 18 to 26 in cities including Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Jessica, who was also invited by the Concurso Nacional de Beleza (CNB), sees her participation not only as a beauty pageant, but also as a platform to raise awareness of the connection between mental health and skin health. “Many patients with scars experience stigma, and this can have a major impact on mental health,” she emphasized.
The jury and the results
The jury looked at much more than just the external appearance of the participants. Jessica and her fellow contestants were assessed on their behavior and interactions as they completed an intensive program that regularly began at 5 a.m. This not only resulted in personal challenges, but also opportunities to prove oneself in the community. The other places behind Jessica were Joann Tiong from Malaysia in second place and Kanokorn Rungraksa (Joy) from Thailand in third place.
Here is an overview of the rankings:
| Place | name | country |
|---|---|---|
| 1. | Jessica Bruxelas | Brazil |
| 2. | Joann Tiong | Malaysia |
| 3. | Kanokorn Rungraksa (Joy) | Thailand |
| 4. | Juliana Aguiero Panopio | Philippines |
| 5. | Feby Wulans | Indonesia |
Additionally, numerous special awards were given out, including “Miss Luminous Complexion” to Sarah Jane Awopijo from Nigeria and “Miss Compassion” to Kirana Yaninrujana from China. Not only are the winners happy about the recognition, but so are the organizers, especially Professor Dr. Kriangsak, declared the event a significant step in the history of beauty pageants.
Thailand's vision in the wellness sector
The Thai government is also sending an impressive signal as it actively seeks to position the country as a center for wellness and positive health. As the Nation of Thailand reports, the growth of the healthcare industry in Thailand is approximately $40.5 billion. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra highlights this sector as a key policy focus to promote economic growth. Health Minister Somsak Thepsuthin has launched a training program that is being carried out in collaboration with various institutions.
This competition is not only a showcase for beauty, but also a strong commitment to a healthy future. The organizers and participants are looking forward to further shaping Thailand as a global wellness center and showing the world that real beauty comes from within.
